Vacating Guide
What to Expect When Vacating
When moving out, tenants are expected to leave the property in a high standard of cleanliness, taking into account the ingoing condition report and fair wear and tear.
Returning to the property after vacating to address cleaning issues can be inconvenient and delay the return of your bond. Preparing the property properly ensures a smooth handover and prompt bond refund.
Notice of Vacate
The Notice of Vacate form is required and must specify the reason for ending the tenancy. Acceptable grounds include:
- End of fixed-term tenancy: At least 14 days’ notice
- Termination of periodic tenancy: At least 21 days’ notice
- Early termination / breaking a lease: Contact your property manager to discuss options and requirements
Submitting the form ensures compliance with tenancy regulations and helps your property manager coordinate inspections, final checks, and the bond return process efficiently.
